PASTAZA, made in Peru
Pastaza is an exceptionally soft and fluffy, natural yarn similar to pure Superfine Alpaca. A llama's coat structure is semi-hollow, like a polar bear's coat, and this gives it excellent insulation properties. Like Alpaca, Cashmere Goat and Vicuña's wool, the Llama's fiber can "breath", is non-allergenic and lanolin free, which makes a spun yarn suitable for people sensitive to itchiness of sheep's wool.
As a matter of fact, Llama fiber is called "The Cashmere of the Andes" because it is even finer than the best cashmere. Pastaza is suitable for hand knitting. Garments made of this yarn are carefree, cozy, and can be worn next to the skin.
