Cascade Pima Tencel,
made in Peru
|
Lustrous, silky, and soft, Pima Tencel is a 50/50 blend of finest the Peruvian Pima cotton and Tencel (Lyocell). It has the appearance of a fine cotton-silk blend, but it is twice less in cost. Pima Tencel is a next-to-the-skin, eco-friendly yarn. It is also amazingly durable. Pima Tencel is suitable for year-round knitwear, hand knit or chunky crochet vests, pullovers, T-shirts, summer tops, and accessories. It is also great for men's outfits: scarves, pullovers, and waistcoats. * Tencel, Viscose and Rayon are often called "fake silks", because they are all natural fibers made of wood pulp.

* What is Tencel? Lyocell is an eco fibre made from wood pulp cellulose as well as Viscose and Rayon. It was first manufactured in 1988 by Courtaulds Fibres UK at their pilot plant S25. The only current manufacturer in the United States is Lenzing Fibers Inc., who market it under the trademarked brand name Tencel.
