Falk is a superbly soft, anti-tickle and machine washable Norwegian new wool yarn. It is slightly lustrous and in double knit weight that makes it perfect for any hand or machine knitting projects, and crochet, from classic and reversible to casual garments and accessories, including scarves.
FYI: The superwash process was developed in United Kingdom. This method, making woolen garments machine washable and dryable, combines chlorination and resin treatment to reduce shrinkage, remaining the natural softness and resilience of wool.
The black-and-white eight-pointed Norwegian Selbu Rose was invented in 1857 by 16-years-old Marit Olsdatter (Emstad) who lived on the farm Gullsetbrua in Selbu. At that time, genuine Selbu knitwear was made from the undyed wool of white and black sheep. Knitting was always popular in Selbu, but at the end of 19th century it became everybody’s hobby: For many years, women, men, and children knitted whenever possible using this motif and its variations.
