Sock YarnsDid you know? The Turkish tradition of making knitted stockings and socks differs from other cultures in which these garments are presented. Turkish socks had five functions: to identify the wearer’s community, to express the wearer’s social rank, to serve as gifts or coded requests, to act as prophylactics and ward off the evil eye, and to commemorate natural disasters, violent events and great legends.
