Very pleasant, vintage-style wool with genuine sweet 'woolen' aroma. Shetlands are cousins of Finn and Icelandic sheep, and originated from Viking settlements between Scotland and Norway. Shetland yarn is usually woolen spun, so that more air is trapped alongside the fibres, giving it a larger number of meters per skein. It is very warm, elastic, light in weight, and has a great loft. Eco Shetland is manufactured in beautiful heathered hues, and perfect for Fair Isle knits, cables and other textured stitches. Shetland can be worn next-to the skin. We suppose this wool should also be great for felting and weaving. Organic certified by OneCert.
