Baa Ram Ewe Skipper is a durable and tightly spun, plied British wool with a soft woolly haze. Since Guernsey-style yarns are traditionally tightly-spun, knits made from this wool variety are very long-lasting, hard-wearing and wind-proof if knitted in the same manner - with a tight gauge. Guernsey-style wool and famouse Guernsey Sweaters are named after the Channel Island of Guernsey, where authentic traditional, worm working Guernsey fisherman's sweaters were born. The yarn is a bit coarse, but it is a cherry on the top - a wind-proof Guernsey sweater is a great choice for stargazing, kayaking or climbing mountains in fall. Note: Guernsey-style yarn has an excellent stitch definition, but it is less elastic than a woollen spun yarn, so please knit a sample swatch to calculate the exact tension for your project.
