Soft Silk is a pure bourette silk, spun from Mulberry silk cocoons, and also known as cocoon silk, silk tweed, raw silk, silk noil. This Silk is very soft, silk-fragrant, durable and versatile - it can be knitted into a warm winter sweater or can be used to make a cooling and breathable top for a hot summer day. It's considered that the bourette silk has a natural healing power due to the high proportion of silk glue proteins (sericin) in it. The proteins from the silkworm cocoon has antimicrobial and antifungal functions - Reference: National Institute of Health. BC Garn Soft Silk is dyed with AZO-free and OEKO-TEX certified dyes. This means that the dye process is safe for your skin and gentle to the environment. This silk is great for any of your projects, baby and children's clothing, as well as home decor and weaving. Please note: There may be excess dye in some of the colors. Please add a little vinegar to the water and rinse the yarn in cold water before use if you wish. Please always wash in cold water. Garment Care: Only gentle hand wash in cold water. Lay flat to dry. Use detergent for wool wash without softener,
Woolwash No Rinse is preferable. Please note: There may be excess dye in some of the colors. If you wish, please add a little vinegar to the water and rinse the yarn in cold water before use.
